  1.  Dear reader,

  3.  Violent ghusts of pride or slithering and throbbing down our spines in 
  4. a  very  flolloppy way as we yet again present to you an issue  of  the 
  5. wholly wholesome international disk magazine  ST NEWS .
  6.  This time it is the 28th issue in total and the first 'undead' issue - 
  7.  ST NEWS  Volume 5 Issue 2.  We know it has been a long time since  the 
  8. previous  issue,  but  you've got to take into  consideration  that  we 
  9. actually stopped with it and that the 'undead' issues are made for  the 
  10. sole  purpose of getting rid of excessive inspiration.  These  'undead' 
  11. issues will not appear as often as you were used to,  but we hope  that 
  12. the quality standard will still be the same as that in the previous  27 
  13. issues.
  14.  We still like  ST NEWS  and therefore we still continue making it - be 
  15. it not entirely official any more.
  16.  
  17.  Anyway.
  18.  This  issue's got some pretty interesting stuff to offer.  Apart  from 
  19. the  usual  titbits,  there are also some  quite  interesting  software 
  20. reviews (with some emphasis on reader matter as you may have  expected) 
  21. and some rather interesting offerings in the PROGRAMS folder.
  22.  What  about  a  new version of  "NeoChrome"?  What  about  a  swearing 
  23. accessory?  What about a GfA Basic Tricks article that explains you how 
  24. to  open all the borders? What about the very BEST packer  around? What 
  25. about reviews of "Fire & Brimstone",  "Shadow of the  Beast",  "Flood", 
  26. "Lode  Runner",  "Universal Item Selector III",  "Neodesk  3",  "Deluxe 
  27. Paint  ST"  and  other programs?  What about  some  rather  interesting 
  28. feature articles?  What about some interesting facts about the  biggest 
  29. Coding Conference this side of the year 2001, due just before Christmas 
  30. in  Holland? What about the latest news concerning viruses on  the  ST? 
  31. And  what  about  the  first  issue  of  the  brand  new   sub-magazine 
  32. "JournaLYNX" and the usual (very hot) adventure solutions?
  33.  We've got it all in this issue!
  34.  Hence our pride.

  36.  Finishing  this  issue was the usual chaos  involving  bugs,  crashing 
  37. systems, a bottle of Plantiac Vieux (The Divine Fluid) and a picture of 
  38. Gard (The Minute Microbe) 'topless'.
  39.  Yeah!
  40.  Apart from the usual articles and the thingies in the PROGRAMS folder, 
  41. you  should  also know that we have a/some  rather  interesting  hidden 
  42. article(s)  -  and  a compo in connection with  it/them!  Go  and  find 
  43. it/them and laugh your head off!

  45.  Well,  we don't have much more to say here,  except for the fact  that 
  46. this issue of  ST NEWS  is,  as usual,  Public Domain and may be copied 
  47. as  much  as you want to anyone you want.  It can be copied  using  any 
  48. standard copier; this disk is formatted using the standard double sided 
  49. format with 80 tracks (0-79) and 9 sectors per track.

  64. P.S. Should you not have it yet,  it is very advisable to get our Final 
  65.      Compendium.  It  is supplied on two double-sided disks  only,  and 
  66.      features ALL articles of interest that ever appeared in the  first 
  67.      26 issues...
  68.      Getting it is highly recommendable.

  70. P.P.S.
  71.      Due to various reasons like Lack of Time, Other Things On Mind and 
  72.      the  discovery that Qabalism is interesting after  all,  the  demo 
  73.      bits  are a bit neglected in this issue.  Hence the Nano  Demo  (a 
  74.      demo comprising of a picture, a scrolline and 1 timer B interrupt) 
  75.      for  color monitor owners and the lack of any monochrome  demo  or 
  76.      picture.  Sorry folks,  but I think the massive amount of articles 
  77.      should make it up!
